Joint initiative on child safety in Central Europe

For the fifth consecutive year, coordinated national initiatives on child safety in road traffic took place in seven countries in the CEE region and were implemented by national insurance associations and other relevant national institutions. The individual initiatives were communicated on social media with a common logo. The aim of the initiative is to promote preventive measures in the field of traffic and child safety in the CEE region. In Austria, the Austrian Road Safety Board (KFV, www.kfv.at) was in charge of implementing the project. The entire initiative was launched under the framework of the CEE-Group, an informal alliance of nine insurance associations in the CEE region.

Five years of successful cooperation to increase the safety of our children

In September, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia were participating in the activities of Child Safety. Platform school crossing guards, country-wide public events, university fairs, digital school initiatives in elementary schools, E-learning platform, and several other various programs were launched by the project partners. The topical focal points, such as the safe way to school and correct behaviour in poor visibility conditions, particularly risky situations were specifically addressed.

In Austria, the KFV presented a platform on school crossing guards in all of Austria with its partners to further help prevent accidents for children on their way to school
